A practical framework for adding numbers to your resume bullets, even when your role doesn't seem measurable.
Recruiters skim resumes looking for evidence. Numbers are the fastest evidence to absorb. A single quantified bullet beats five vague ones, even when the underlying work is the same.
For every bullet, ask three questions: How much? How many? How often? If you can answer even one of those, you have a stronger bullet.
Use ranges, approximations, or relative comparisons. 'Reduced support volume by roughly 20 percent' is honest and effective. 'Tripled the size of the partner program' is memorable and easy to verify in an interview.
Recruiters care about scale (how big), direction (better or worse), and ownership (you or your team). A bullet that hits all three is hard to ignore: 'Led a team of four engineers to reduce checkout abandonment from 38 percent to 22 percent over two quarters.'
